Hello,
My name is Alisa Vig, and I am Simaney Kesher’s Clinic director and founder. I established Simaney Kesher in 2011 out of great love and curiosity towards the human mind and body, the connections between them, and a desire for community-minded care. I truly believe that the right team of excelled therapists and in-depth and accurate treatments program can be groundbreaking and have far-reaching effects on the lives and development of patients and families and the therapists themselves (myself included).
I graduated with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology in the United States in 1998. Since then, I have accumulated extensive experience in clinical treatment, peer training, and teaching Ph.D. psychology students. My work has been focused on the individual’s remarkable abilities of self-healing with the support of their family, therapeutic team, and community.
In our clinic, it isn’t uncommon to see parents’ excitement when a child who once seemed distant, apathetic, or confused suddenly begins to giggle, run to his mom for a hug, or find a dad to goof around and read a story together. Along with one young lady’s parents, I have been privileged to experience the joy of seeing a distressed and anxious teenager who after a few months was finally able to share her pain with her friends and family, giving her the confidence to walk with a straight back and head held up high in her school hallways. In another rewarding case, a woman who felt lonely and distant from her colleagues for years was able to begin building social bonds and feel belonging in her workplace.
I believe that an optimized, effective treatment program that enables such significant changes and breakthroughs is made possible by three main components:
- Professional therapists, A curious and playful therapist with great faith in processes that lead to change. A therapist who deeply understands all of the stages of human development and its various components (e.g., neurobiological, emotional, cognitive, and communicational). One who identifies the needs of the patient, their parents, and their surroundings, understands family and community dynamics, and from this broad outlook works with the most effective tools to support patients.
- Supportive community circles ncluding family, education frameworks, and employment environments. A community that sees the difficulties an individual may face but also recognizes his or her strengths. A family and community who believe in their power to help the individual, and following this healing process, grow themselves in the process. Inquisitive and devoted family and community members who can buckle down and enjoy the mutual growth on this journey.
- One professional, therapeutic framework Composed of a team that synchronizes mindsets and expertise into a collaborative effort as they further broaden their understanding and knowledge. Who explore innovative treatment tools and groundbreaking techniques that promote play and enjoyment. A clinic with a professional, caring, curious team eager to learn, proactively tackle patient needs as they appear, and provide an accurate and flexible response to improve treatment programs and elicit growth consistently. These success factors in the Simaney Kesher Clinic enable exciting, significant, and even accelerated progress. Making capabilities that appeared to be impossible a few months earlier becomes the patient’s new reality.
We are here for you because we believe that with the help of parents, family, community, and led by the clinic’s team, we can enable anyone with special needs to break through boundaries, grow significantly, and experience a higher quality of life.
Yours,
Dr. Alisa Vig
